PSYCHOTIC LOVE explore inner conflict on ‘Nightmare’ as debut album takes shape

Santiago’s PSYCHOTIC LOVE have released ‘Nightmare’, the third single previewing their first album. The Chilean alternative rock and metal quartet use the song to explore internal conflict: the struggle to find a way forward when dark thoughts appear to take control.

The announcement describes a narrative divided between a person in profound distress and an inner voice trying to reach them. As the protagonist imagines the worst possible outcome, that other part of the self attempts to offer reassurance and rescue, but cannot fully close the distance.

That separation becomes a plea for another chance to stay. Anger, exhaustion and desperation run through the account, while the inner voice keeps calling even when it seems impossible to hear. Alongside the feeling of being trapped within one’s own mind, ‘Nightmare’ retains a fragile hope: the possibility of asking for help, waking up and looking at the sky again.

Those themes extend the emotional territory of PSYCHOTIC LOVE’s broader work, which examines love, desire, insecurity and emotional deterioration. Their musical approach combines layered guitars, dense synthesizers and expressive vocals, moving between force and vulnerability within a pronounced cinematic atmosphere.

Formed in Santiago in 2022, PSYCHOTIC LOVE comprise Ikiba on lead guitar, Lazzive on vocals and second guitar, Steve on bass and Biondying on drums. The four-piece bring alternative rock and metal together as a means of exploring intense emotions and personal struggles.

‘Nightmare’ offers a further introduction to that approach ahead of the band’s debut album. The single is available on Spotify and across digital platforms.
